The Short Version

We don't have your data. Period. PlantorNOT uses a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) architecture. Your plant photos are sent directly from your browser to Groq AI using your personal API key. There is no PlantorNOT server — just static code hosted on Cloudflare's CDN.

How PlantOrNOT Works

Your Phone → Groq AI (api.groq.com) → Your Phone — your key
Your Phone → PlantOrNOT Servers → Anything

You snap a photo of a plant or type a plant name/description.
Your browser sends the photo or text directly to Groq's API using your personal API key.
Groq's AI analyzes the plant, then searches botanical and toxicity databases.
Your browser displays the identification results.

There is no PlantOrNOT server. The website is a static page hosted on Cloudflare's CDN.

What We Collect

Your API Key

Your Groq API key is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. It is:

Never transmitted to PlantOrNOT — only to api.groq.com
Never visible to us
Deletable at any time via the settings panel or clearing browser data
